The Story

The 1 PM starts from a simple observation: the classic vulc/cupsole mold has its limits, so Village PM rebuilds the skate shoe from climbing shoe construction instead. Compact, clean silhouette, built for a foot that stays free to move without ever losing precision underfoot — the 1 PM isn't chasing bulk, it's chasing control. The grip comes from somewhere else entirely: rubber applied by hand, borrowed from a discipline that has nothing to do with skating at its roots, but answers the exact same need for control and durability.

Design & Materials

The upper runs a leather-and-suede mix on this Grey Natural Black colorway, a textured matte grey that skips the overly smooth look of standard synthetics. Contrast white stitching traces the foot's profile for a clean, almost technical finish. The natural black rubber rand wraps the toe and heel — a climbing-inspired treatment rather than a purely decorative reinforcement. Two wide heel pull tabs make the shoe easy to step into without giving up lockdown, and the full-length lacing, extended toward the forefoot, ties everything together. The "Village PM" patch on the insole and the clean finishing put this pair squarely in limited-run territory rather than generic mass production.

Comfort & Boardfeel

The 1 PM runs the same Rubber Glove technology as the rest of the range: a soft, tacky rubber applied by hand around the foot that breaks in fast and hugs the natural shape of the toes thanks to an asymmetrical fit. The climbing rand covering toe and heel keeps the flick consistent and holds up well against abrasion, with the added bonus of being repairable instead of disposable once it wears down. Underfoot, the drop-in EVA midsole soaks up impact without killing board feel, and the durable rubber outsole holds up through sessions as much as everyday city wear. The result: a shoe built around lockdown precision over bulk, without giving up long-term comfort.
