Authentic 44: olive suede, forest-green sole and two lace sets

It dates back to 1966. Ever since, the Authentic has set the standard for clean, functional design, and this LX take, positioned as a high-end model, stays true to its roots while updating what you feel on foot: a refined cut, an upgraded footbed, a reworked construction for better fit. One archive nod rounds it out. The reinforcement band draws on the original outsole of the Osnaburg, a 90s model. With the Field colorway, this skate-born base heads for a field-gear palette: olive up top, forest green below.

The upper is soft, textured suede in olive green, with a visible nap that shifts tone under the light. The padded collar gets a matte finish, and the tongue and the heel counter are in matching green canvas, with vertical stitch lines clearly readable at the back. Below, the base goes forest green, almost grey: a taller satin sidewall, a finely textured toe bumper, a tonal embossed Off The Wall mark at the heel. Up front, the eyelets are metal in a bronze finish. In the product shots, a red-brick and white striped lace runs through the eyelets, with a black rope lace flecked in white knotted over the top. The insole is black with the white Vans block, and a white woven label signs the side.

It all rests on the vulcanized construction: the sole is assembled with heat, which gives that close-to-the-ground feel you expect from an Authentic. On top sits the Sola Foam ADC (All-Day Comfort) insole, for soft, lasting cushioning. It contains at least 30% bio-based PU foam, partly plant-derived and USDA-certified biobased. Wear and Care Notes

Two lace sets come in the box: one cotton, one rope. The choice changes how the pair reads. The striped cotton keeps the line more classic, while the black rope bulks up the lacing and makes it pop against the olive. Green suede hides dust better than a beige pair, but not water spots: a suede protector spray before the first outing avoids bad surprises. A pass with a suede brush after wearing, with the nap, is enough for routine upkeep. If the pair gets soaked, let it air-dry.
