Powell Peralta - Skateboard Skeleton Pin - Glow

Powell Peralta pines featuring the Skateboard Skeleton artwork by Vernon Courtlandt Johnson. In 1977, the VCJ artist illustrated two black and white posters to promote Bones wheels. About a year later, Court sat down to work on a new project that would transform the Bones theme into a skateboard skeleton concept. To help Court make the image as realistic as possible, George bought a life-size skeleton from a medical supply shop. Court named her Rosie. After several hours of shoring and assembly, Rosie was frozen in the position of a skateboard skeleton. Court set to work. Her work, completed towards the end of 1978, was used as a Bones sticker and T-shirt graphic, the first illustration created under the new Powell Peralta brand. And it glows in the dark!
