Nylon side, fleece side: a vest that flips with the weather

Two brands, two faces, and each one has its own character. On the Toffee side, a caramel brown close to workwear and field gear, the vest stays low-key: a blue and red woven patch on the chest, and on the lower back a beige print of angular interlocking figures, the graphic signature of the MXE collab. Flip it and it turns into something else entirely: the Shadow Blue fleece is covered in Millet and Element letters, ringed with wavy lines like an elevation map, a callback to the Savoie house's mountain heritage run through Element's graphic lens. A small black woven label marks the chest, and the collar carries the Millet M and the Element tree on its inner face. One buy, two very different silhouettes.

The relaxed fit hangs straight, with armholes roomy enough to layer the vest over a hoodie, a flannel shirt or a chunky knit. The outer face is X.C.S. 150, a 150 g/m² technical fabric blending 90% nylon and 10% elastane, smooth, with light stretch and the dry hand of proper alpine gear. The other face is a 300 g/m² printed fleece in 100% recycled polyester, dense and warm. The finishing is clean: Toffee binding around the armholes and hem, a stand collar, and a 2-way zip so you can open up the bottom when sitting down or riding. The horizontal back panel seam and slightly gathered hem give the vest real construction, a long way from a basic gilet.

The whole point of a reversible is adapting: on the nylon side, the fabric blocks wind, shrugs off light rain and doesn't pick up lint or dust; on the fleece side, you lock in warmth and softness when the cold sets in. Sleeveless means your arms stay free, making it the go-to layer for days when the temperature won't make up its mind. The side pockets work on both faces, and the D-ring key holder on the Toffee side saves you digging around for your keys. The elastane lets the fabric move with you without straining the seams, and the nylon holds up well against backpack strap abrasion.
