The cult moc goes all-weather

Launched in 1967, the Wallabee never really left the street. Moccasin construction, low crepe sole, that stubby silhouette — it ran through the UK mod scene before American hip-hop picked it up in the 90s, worn just as easily with a suit as with sweats. The Wallabee GTX keeps that original shape intact and arms it for rain, slush, and grey pavement, without touching the silhouette that built the line's reputation.

This dark olive colorway is built on genuine suede, lined with a GORE-TEX membrane for full waterproofing without giving up breathability. The leaf-cut leather fringe, debossed with the Clarks Originals logo, stays the instant giveaway of the line. Three logo tabs — Clarks Originals, Wallabee, GORE-TEX — sign the pair, understated but legible. Round braided laces in yellow and burgundy, finished with metal aglets in a paracord style, cut against the matte suede and give this drop a more technical edge than a standard Wallabee. A tonal, flecked alternate lace set ships in the box for switching up the look.

Under the suede, the GORE-TEX membrane keeps water out while still letting moisture escape — a real shift for a shoe originally built around crepe. A sheepskin lining brings warmth from the first cold-weather wear. Underneath, the fragile crepe sole is gone: a taller, lugged Vibram® outsole takes over, gripping wet ground and holding up to a lot more mileage than a standard Wallabee. The burgundy Clarks Originals sockliner and the hand-stitched moccasin construction let the foot breathe inside a soft, break-in-free fit.
