The PS8: Pink-Beige Flyknit, Ceramic Leather and a Black HART Outsole

No break-in, no trial period: the PS8 comes out of the box ready to roll, and Nike SB built it around that idea. Low profile, Nike Running aesthetic, an iconic pattern underfoot. It borrows its lines from running and keeps what holds up in skating: abrasion resistance, responsiveness, shape that lasts session after session. Three pieces carry the project: a layered Flyknit upper, a reworked Flyplate in the sole and a HART outsole. The rest is in the details.

Bio Beige, Ceramic, Black: the colorway name is the recipe. Pink-beige Flyknit makes up the base of the upper, in stacked layers with a tight weave you can read up close. Long-nap burnt-orange leather covers the toe and the heel, the two zones griptape hits first. The smooth Swoosh on the sidewall picks up the same shade. Around the lacing, a beige napped panel, cut in a wave with raw edges left showing, breaks up the line. Black laces, a black FLYKNIT label on the sidewall, a small black embroidered Swoosh on the toe, NIKE SB embroidered in black on the heel. The mesh tongue carries an orange ZOOM PS8 label, and the insole stays in the same orange. Underneath, a thick black midsole stamped AIR ZOOM and HART.

The Flyknit wraps your foot from the first session and holds its shape after that: no break-in needed. On the toe and heel, the long-nap leather takes the wear in place of the upper. Underfoot, Zoom Air cushioning gives a sharp pop and soaks up the landing. The reworked Flyplate reinforces the foam so that response lasts, and the HART outsole uses less rubber: lighter, more flexible, with no give on abrasion. For upkeep, a damp cloth or a soft brush is enough on the Flyknit, and a dry-bristle brush works on the leather. Keep it out of the washing machine.
