OBEY Clothing was born in 2001 from the vision of Shepard Fairey — American artist, graphic designer and activist whose story began in 1989 with a single absurdist sticker wheat-pasted on the streets of Providence, Rhode Island. That subversive act became a global street art campaign, and OBEY Clothing its natural extension: garments that function as mobile canvases for cultural commentary.
