EMPR & ASICS celebrate skateboarding with a

Skate Obstacle Design Contest

We’re super proud to announce our collaboration with Asics Skateboarding! To celebrate in style, we decided to go all out: we’re launching a skate obstacle design contest, free and open to everyone.

The idea is simple: imagine the obstacle of your dreams, and the winning design won't just stay on paper... it will be built for real!

How to enter?

1. Download the form

Download the official contest template to guide your design:

2. Design your obstacle

No need to be an architect: a sketch, a technical drawing with dimensions, a freehand blueprint... notes, comments—anything goes as long as the idea is clear. We want to see your creativity, not your drawing skills.

3. Submit your design

Send the form back to the email address indicated on the form by midnight on October 30, 2026 at the latest. And share your creation on your profile, tagging @empr.ig and @asics_skateboarding

4. Wait for the results

it tight for the results—they’ll be announced during the Halloween party on October 31st, hosted by the shop and Durango Café. Featuring an exclusive premiere of the new Asics video, a costume contest, the launch of the shop’s special Halloween board... but we’ll tell you more about that soon!

Jury and Prizes

A jury made up of the shop team, the EMPR skate team, and our carpenter (the actual craftsman who will bring the project to life) will judge the best designs to establish a podium:

  • 🥇 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will walk away with prizes
  • 🏆 The grand winner will see their obstacle built in real life, ready to be skated

The results will be previewed during a special Halloween party hosted at the Durango Café on Saturday, October 31st, and afterward on Instagram.

A tip: let your creativity run wild, but keep your feet on the ground. We want obstacles that stand out, original shapes, ideas we haven't seen yet at our spots—but don't forget that the winning project will be actually built. So think of a feasible design: coherent dimensions, a structure that stands up, and materials our carpenter can actually work with. The best design is one that makes you dream AND can exist in real life.

And then? Time for the contest!

Once the obstacle is built, we’re throwing a contest on it with a Best Trick award — and even more prizes up for grabs!

A project that makes sense

Cherry on top: once the party is over, the obstacle will be donated to the local skateboard association, so it continues to keep the local skate scene alive over the long term.

So, grab your pencils! We can't wait to discover your designs and celebrate this EMPR x Asics Skateboarding collaboration with you, on four wheels. 🛹✨
